About this Role

With the oversight and direction from the Data Analytics Manager, the Data Visualization Analyst is expected to proactively identify, maintain, update and document datasets (reports and dashboards) and key performance indicators (KPI). The primary function of the role is to develop informative dashboards and reports utilizing Tableau. This includes the design, development, enhancement and support of innovative, meaningful and useful visualizations with optimal performance for end-users. This role will also assist with cleansing, updating or transforming inaccurate or malformed data.

Role Expectations

• Own the creation, maintenance, and documentation for datasets from Google Cloud Platform, Google Analytics, or Salesforce.
• Utilize Tableau and Dataform to design reports and analytics to fulfill business requirements and provide insight into key data points.
• Develop actionable insights from existing datasets.
• Utilize SQL in Dataform/Google Cloud Platform to collect, understand, transform, cleanse, store and share data in a privacy-preserving way (ELT).
• Educate business users in the effective use of their analytic solutions.

Quality Impact

• Perform data validation to ensure the accuracy of analytical solutions developed.
• May conduct or assist with conducting audits on datasets to ensure that standardized KPIs or related metrics are being used.
• Cleanse, merge, or reformat inaccurate or malformed data at the direction of leadership.
• Adhere to and promote analytic best practices for consistent performance, accuracy, quality, and reliability.
• Provide maintenance to existing Tableau dashboards.

Team Impact

• Work collaboratively with team members in your department and cross-departmentally to gain diverse viewpoints.
• Assist project team members with reviewing and understanding datasets and KPIs.
• Perform duties not specifically identified herein, as assigned, in order to assist with the needs of the data team.
• Proactively identify areas that they can assist and streamline processes alongside fellow team members in areas such as: data collection, data transformation.
• Elicit business requirements to address the business stakeholder’s Data Visualization needs.
• Partner with business stakeholders to design and develop efficient and standards-based BI solutions using Tableau that satisfy business information reporting needs.

Qualifications & Skills

• 1+ years experience working as a data analyst or data-related role.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Passion for data analytics.
• Experience with SQL for data manipulation and extraction.
• Basic understanding of Data Visualization best practices and principles.
• Proficiency in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Tableau Prep Builder.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Expertise/skills with both learning and sharing.
• Professional and adept, with the ability to embrace technology and automation.

• Certifications received independently reflecting ongoing learning, training, and knowledge expansion in the job specific areas. (i.e. Google Analytics Certification).
• Previous experience working with Tableau, Dataform, Google Cloud Platform.
• Advanced SQL knowledge.
