Required Qualifications, Experience, Certifications and Education o Knowledge of data warehouse and data mart concepts and structures o Understanding and ability to write mid-complexity SQL o Understanding of source to target mapping documents o Demonstrated working knowledge or experience of Cognos tools (Analysis Studio, Query Studio and Standard Reporting) o Knowledge of Data Stage o Tosca or other automation tool experience is a plus o Policy business knowledge is a plus o Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills Role Title and Activities Data Tester o The QE identifies quality issues and risks with software programs and/or applications by utilizing automation or manual testing techniques on assignments typically of medium complexity. o Adheres to agile methodology by contributing to team estimation, story card details, acceptance criteria definition and test approach and retrospectives. Within the agile team primarily focuses on testing concepts and discipline. o Monitors progress and serves as a primary point of contact for status/updates and provides communication ensuring adherence to the test plan. o Collaborates and communicates with the agile team and business owners. o Core testing focus is manual testing, but automation experience is desirable. (Tosca) o Defect management including reports where applicable. Day in the life of o Validate data moves from source to target. Database to database or database to files. Including but not limited to table structure, counts, balancing, data validation. o Regression testing of existing tables, reports. o Validate reports generated by Cognos, Tableau, excel. Data validation back to source re: table, excel or other source. Data and non-functional testing. o For SQL, the candidate should be able to build/read SQL combines of different joins, union, analytical functions, aggregates functions, subquery, Pivots, Temp table and their usage etc.
