Description:
Provides support and oversight to the district's systems, networks, and technologies to ensure high availability during core operating hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Network:

• Install, terminate, and troubleshoot Ethernet data cabling, patch panels, and end point keystones.
• Troubleshoot fiber optic connections between internal switch rooms.
• Configure, install, troubleshoot, and maintain network switching equipment.
• Configure, install, troubleshoot, and maintain wireless networking equipment.
• Create, update, and audit student and staff user accounts.
• Create, update, and audit network storage files and locations.
• Monitor firewall and Internet content filter for potential threats.

Infrastructure:

• Install, configure, update, maintain, and troubleshoot physical server equipment.
• Install, configure, update, maintain, and troubleshoot virtual server environment.
• Install, configure, update, maintain, and troubleshoot internal data stores.
• Create, maintain and audit server backups.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot district owned or leased printers.

PC, laptop, and Chromebooks:

• Configure, install, troubleshoot, and maintain district owned PC's and laptops.
• Inventory and enroll newly purchased Chromebooks into district Google domain.
• Deprovision outdated or completely damaged Chromebooks from District Google domain.
• Inventory and enroll district owned PC's and laptops into district Active Directory domain.
• Work with building staff and contracted vendors for needed repairs of Chromebooks and carts.
• Properly dispose of any district owned equipment.

Hosted Systems and Internal software:

• Create, audit and delete user accounts in the student information system.
• Create custom reports and data files from the student information system as needed.
• Work with contracted vendors on the creation of student accounts.
• Monitor and troubleshoot various systems that sync data from the student information system.

Phone and Intercom systems

• Configure, install, and troubleshoot VoIP phones, ATA's, and integrated fax machines.
• Coordinate with VoIP host vendor for extensions and voicemail changes as well as outages and hosted server updates.
• Troubleshoot building intercom system. Train end users in setting up calendar and event schedules for bells and paging.

Building security:

• Install, configure, update and troubleshoot physical servers used for security camera systems.
• Configure, install, and troubleshoot cameras mounted throughout the district.
• Create user accounts for staff and install required software to monitor the camera system.
• Troubleshoot and repair issues regarding access control systems.
• Work with vendor on the installation of new access control equipment.
• Create, audit, and delete user accounts and assign fobs within the access control system.

Classroom Technology:

• Install, troubleshoot and repair projection system.
• Setup, configure, troubleshoot and repair interactive technologies.
• Setup, configure, troubleshoot and repair audio systems.

End User Support:

• Answer helpdesk questions in a courteous and professional manner.
• Reset user's passwords and access PINs as necessary.
• Respond to emails and helpdesk tickets in a timely manner.
• If the end user's issue cannot be resolved by remote access, travel to the end user's location to remedy issues.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Stay up to date on service bulletins, threat notifications, and trends regarding any system within the district.
• Mentor students through various internship programs.
• Complete district mandated online training.
• Continually learn about new technologies and skills within the IT field.

Qualifications:

• Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Three to five years of related experience.
• Must complete FBI/BCI&I fingerprint check.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of network environments, including but not limited to routing statements, VLAN's, DHCP, DNS, wireless technologies, firewalls, content filtering, packet shaping, and cabling standards.
• Knowledge of Microsoft domain structures, including but not limited to Active Directory user accounts, group policies, print management and deployment.
• Knowledge of various operating systems, including but not limited to Windows, MacOS, Linux, Raspian, and ChromeOS
• Knowledge of VMWare/Hyper-V.
• Knowledge of GAFE/GADS/SSO
• Knowledge of MS SQL/MySQL
• Ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and situations.
• Ability to work effectively with others.

Additional Working Conditions:

• Occasionally requirement to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Operate district owned motor vehicle, even in inclement weather conditions.
• Occasionally work evenings and weekends.
• Repetitive hand motions, for example typing on a keyboard or writing.
• Occasionally lift, carry, push or pull various items up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
