Form of workEFFECTIVE START DATE: JULY 1, 2023 TITLE: Data Systems Analyst QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in computer science/information technology or related field.Minimum of two years of experience in training and/or supporting various software applications.Additional consideration will be given to applicants with knowledge and experience with IPSB's current student information system and/or business applications.Physical and mental stamina and ability to perform job functions, tasks and duties. REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Instructional Technology SUPERVISES: Non-Applicable TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 Months PAY FACTOR: Non-Applicable JOB GOAL: To improve the current central office Data Systems networking, design, programming and security along with district wide daily usage and operations. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises, analyzes, and maintains all tasks related to the operation of central office Data Systems related to the design, programming, documentation, implementation, maintenance and usage.
Reviews all requests for software applications and makes recommendations to appropriate authorities as to the feasibility of implementing a new application. Designs and develops all computer programs and procedures necessary to implement approved application.Extracts data from multiple Data Systems and prepares reports in a logical format as requested by supervisor.Recommends the type and format of inputs and outputs used in processing data applications.Supervises and coordinates the preparation and usability of data and establishes necessary priorities.Assists school board personnel in the proper utilization of the reports generated. Conducts periodic review of all applications with appropriate personnel to determine effectiveness of the applications and recommends any changes that may be necessary.
Works with individual department users to determine their information processing needs and to respond to these needs as directed. Coordinates school board policies and procedures regarding personal identifiable information. Maintains written documentation for all applications implemented.
Facilitates public records requests as needed. Ensures back-ups for all Data Systems. Provide support for Data Systems used within the school system, including but not limited to Student Information System, Human Resources, Accounting, and Payroll.Troubleshoots software and data issues for all Data Systems.Assesses the needs of the end users and facilitates training as necessary.Works with software vendors to maintain good relations and to communicate the needs of the district.Assists and ensures state reporting requirements are met for all Data Systems.
(PEP, AFR, SER, etc). Attends meetings as directed.Serves on task force and decision-making committees, when appropriate.Develops and implements an Individual Growth Plan annually.Keeps abreast of current educational trends through staff development and professional organizations.
