Job description

We are seeking a few Data SurveyorIndependent Contractor's to gather various types of data nationwide.

Location
100% remote work at client locations in your area, some travel may be required.
General Scope of Work

  • Gather commercial property information, including architectural measurements, utility services, property assets, and other property information, translating real world commercial properties into accurate, interactive digital site plans.
  • Using cartography, 3D Cameras, laser measuring devices, and surveying skills, our surveyors create virtual tours and site plans by surveying, measuring, and gathering data on every element of a commercial property inside and out, rooftops, HVAC units, landscaping, utility meters, bathroom measurements, window heights, lighting information, and more.

General Requirements and Qualifications
  • OSHA 10 Certification or better
  • Be available for multiple missions per week and/or weekends.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, follow detailed instructions, and balance multiple deadlines.
  • Must have at least $1,000,000 of liability insurance on a yearly basis
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have an iOS device or be willing to purchase one.
  • Must have a Matterport 3 camera or be willing to purchase one.

Compensation
  • This is a 1099 Independent Freelance position, so compensation will be based on the services provided.
  • Mileage will be based on a pre-determined and approved amount. This will be on a case-by-case basis. Hotel cost if needed will be covered on a case-by-case basis.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong iPad and computer skills, with proven knowledge using tablets and stylus pens, downloading, and updating apps without help, connecting to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and use of smartphone navigation and messaging.
  • Maintaining a professional appearance, even after working outside for long hours
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Excellent organizational, time management skills, self-discipline, and self-motivation
  • Experience with architect work, mapping, surveying, floorplans, site plans, or blueprints
  • Experience working with Matterport devices and software.

DAY-TO-DAY TASKS
  • Drive to commercial properties and create virtual tours, map details, and place landmark assets with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Professionally and frequently communicate with ID Plans to include Quality Control, project status and customer issues. Project Manager to update progress, respond to requests, and clarify information.
  • Meet work scope expectations for quality, accuracy, communication, and efficiency.
  • Safely climb ladders onto commercial rooftops (up to 25-feet in height) and work outside in all types of weather
  • Find, measure, survey, map, track, and report every site detail of properties, gathering fire safety equipment information, including location of access panels, note details and photograph signage and equipment data such as size, location, manufacturer, model, and serial of HVAC and dumpster equipment, etc.
  • Survey, map, measure, and record details such as wall lengths, window heights, restroom areas, closets, doors, ceiling tiles and heights, lighting information, and more
  • Quickly and accurately gather utility meter information (water, gas, electric)
  • Politely and professionally communicate and engage with property managers, utility service providers, site security, members of the public, and internal team members.
  • Use graphic design, architectural, and digital cartography tools, mapping software, and surveyor tools such as laser distance meters, 3D cameras, measuring wheels, ladders, and hand tools.
  • Complete orientation as needed.
