ECS is seeking a Data Scientist (Top Secret Cleared) to work in our Washington, DC office.

ECS is seeking a TS-cleared Data Scientist to support one of our mission critical programs for the Department of Justice. We are seeking candidates committed to high quality to provide courteous and accurate technical information. As a Data Scientist, you will collaborate with customers, often engaging directly with non-technical personnel, to understand their data science related needs, suggest solutions, and complete work in a timely manner. This position performs activities associated with implementation, integration, and support of computer systems in mission-critical response operations environment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with customers, often engaging directly with non - technical personnel, to understand their data needs, suggest solutions, and complete assigned work in a timely manner
- Perform programming, code refactoring, systems operations, and/or data designing
- Lead and/or design machine learning, statistical analysis, and data analysis tasks.
- Leverage existing and/or conduct custom Extract Transform Load (ETL) work to aggregate data from multiple repositories and condition the data to provide novel insights.
- Interpret data, identify features and model variables, assess the quality of model outputs, generate alternatives, and conduct remediation
- Develop and carry out quality control and assurance tasks
- Automate routine workflows and data analysis steps such that customers can self - service their needs.
- Evaluate COTS, Open Source and other existing software and systems for implementation
- Identify, recommend remedies, and/or implement solutions which enhance existing software and system capabilities, performance, security, and other related functionality
- Develop write - ups, visualizations, infographics, and charts to communicate results and associated findings
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in in Data Science, Mathematics, Information Science, Statistics, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related degree
- Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility
- 2 years of relevant work experience
- Demonstrated experience with Python, R, PowerShell, JavaScript, Java.
- Working knowledge and experience with SQL, NoSQL, and/or MySQL
- Demonstrated cloud experience (AWS preferred)
- Demonstrated working knowledge in one (1) or more of the following areas: UI/UX, front end engineering, API development, and/or data engineering.
- Great communication skills.Expert at being able to discuss and derive real requirements from non-technical customers and then build into relative tasks.
Desired Skills:
- AWS certification
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience using RESTful APIs to access web services
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and GitLab
- Familiarity with Spark and Databricks for distributed computing with large datasets
- Knowledge of social network analysis tools (e.g., NetworkX) and graph databases (e.g., Neo4j)
- Developing graphical user interfaces
- Willingness to learn new skills and technologies on the fly
- Ability to communicate with customers to refine requirements
- Ability to deconstruct customer requirements into delineated tasks
- Being a team player
