We are a team of Data Scientists and Software Engineers who love keeping up with the latest ML research, fostering a creative and supportive workplace environment, and hosting the occasional board game/trivia event. We work closely with a number of teams throughout Proofpoint to assess opportunities for successful application of ML/AI to significantly differentiate our product offerings and delight our customers. Recently deployed projects have spanned the full range of modern ML techniques (deep and classical learning), approaches (supervised and unsupervised learning) and data types (textual, image, and structured data).
As a Data Science Intern on the ML Labs team, you will collaborate with Data Scientists and Software Engineers to apply machine learning to problems in cybersecurity/information security. You will have the opportunity to:
- Visualize, explore, and clean data and engineer problem-specific features
- Train and deploy statistical / machine learning models
- Write clean, tested code and receive feedback on your submitted PRs
- Present your results to various company stakeholders
Qualifications
- Strong grasp of probability, optimization, and linear algebra
- Basic understanding of machine learning methodology and workflow
