The Data Scientist Intern will contribute to kick starting and accelerating current Computer Science / Machine Learning projects in the Warfighter Systems Integration Lab (WSIL.) The position will develop custom made methods to collect data under different challenging conditions. In particular motion capture data with occlusions or outdoors.

In addition, the position will accelerate progress in the development of AI-powered simulated bots for WSILs combat scenario simulations as well as other generic Machine Learning solutions.

This is a paid internship and has a start date of mid-May and ends in mid-late August 2024.

Job Responsibilities - About the role - you'll need to:

Insert projects & tasks they will be responsible for

Carry out training of AI bots and simulations

Contribute to development of algorithmic solutions for Motion Capture and Sensor Fusion

Assist in data collection, reduction and analysis for product testing using both qualitative and quantitative methods

Contribute to development of algorithmic solutions for eye-tracking

Contribute to the successful execution and completion of ongoing collaborative research at partnering academic institutions

Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills - About you - you'll need:

Currently enrolled in and undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Data Science or related fields

A strong foundation in Machine Learning and Neural Networks

A strong foundation in Python

Demonstrated intellectual flexibility, good judgment, and analytical problem solving

Knowledge of Tensorflow or Pytorch is a must

Knowledge of Reinforcement Learning is a plus

Knowledge of Unity 3D is a strong advantage
