The Marketplace DS team uses data to improve and automate all aspects of Uber's core rideshare and delivery business. You will join the Mobility Matching team and work closely with Product, Engineering, and other Science teams to resolve how we can better fulfill trips. This includes providing insight into how we can complete more trips faster, delivering outstanding experiences!
The ideal candidate would have a good balance of experimentation/inference expertise an ability to develop intuition around algorithms used and apply that insight to find opportunities for improvement and deliver product recommendations, develop dashboards, and ensure the integrity of our platform/products/data.

What You Will Do
- Develop data-driven business insights and work with cross-functional customers to find opportunities and recommend prioritization of product, growth, and optimization initiatives.
- Design and Analyze experiments, presenting results that draw details and actionable conclusions
- Define how our teams measure success by developing Key Performance Indicators and other user/business metrics in close partnership with Product, Applied Science and Engineering
- Orientating our teams around data-driven product development by driving the creation of logging, metrics, data visualization and diagnostic tools, and experimentation paradigms.
- B.S or M.S. in Math, Economics, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other quantitative field. (If M.S. degree, a minimum of 1+ years of industry experience required and if a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 2+ years of industry experience as a Product Analyst or equivalent)
- Advanced SQL expertise
- Good understanding of experimental design (such as A/B experiments) and statistical methods
- Ability and experience in extracting insights from data, and summarizing findings / takeaways
- Experience with Excel and some dashboarding/data visualization (i.e. Tableau, Mixpanel, Looker, or similar)
- Willingness to learn new methodologies and adapt to business needs and goals
- Advanced experience with experimental design and statistical methods
- Ability to understand and prioritize business goals and strategies
- Ability to deliver on tight timelines and move quickly with cross-functional teams to complete decisions while maintaining attention to detail
- Dedicated and driven with the ability to work in a self-guided manner
- Superb communication and organization skills
- Attention to details and willingness to get your hands dirty with messy data to identify product opportunities and uncover exciting product insights

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$140,000 per year - USD$156,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
