Data Scientist II- Insights, Data Engineering & Analytics (IDEAs) Compete Data Science Team
Our team plays a key role in providing data and analytics for Experiences + Devices (E+D) Group, owns the end-to-end reporting and key data assets utilized for leadership review. As a Data Scientist II in IDEAs, you would be leveraging the power of data and the skill of analysis to understand the competitive landscape Microsoft operates within.

Responsibilities
- Define, instrument and monitor key compete performance metrics and analytical data for Microsoft 365, and new/emerging products/services, along with the key corresponding competitor products.
- Deliver deep competitive business analyses to drive insights and learnings on Microsoft products success in market against key competitors.
- Perform market research and data exploration to determine the best 1st and 3rd party data solutions for measuring/analyzing both overall market share as well as specific feature areas and scenarios.
- Partner deeply with Product, Marketing, Biz Planning & Finance stakeholders to build actionable plans, data, & analysis to help address key compete business questions/scenarios and inform business strategy.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 2+ years data-science experience, including hands-on analytics experience with proven quantitative orientation, managing structured and unstructured data.
- OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ years data-science experience, including hands-on analytics experience with proven quantitative orientation, managing structured and unstructured data.
- OR Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related, including hands-on analytics experience with proven quantitative orientation, managing structured and unstructured data.
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ years experience working with large data manipulation and data mining using SQL
- 1+ years experience working with the following: Excel (advanced proficiency), PowerPoint, as well as visualization tools such as Power BI or equivalent.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with Data Lake infrastructures (Cosmos, Hadoop)
- Experience with Power BI preferred
- Demonstrated problem solving, technical and data analysis skills
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete or dirty data
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment that promotes collaboration
