Overview

Your role will be to be part of growing team based in Dallas and Barcelona, to create and support global digital developments for PepsiCo. These developments will be focus on Sales Effectiveness and Customer Analytics, supporting revenue growth across continents.

You will be part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team around data. Starting at the discovery phase, you will be responsible for determining feasibility of potential new projects as well as building deployable statistical/machine learning models. You will work closely with process owners, product owners, data engineers and ml engineers and gain great exposure to building end-to-end ml systems.You will be an internal ambassador of the team's culture around data and analytics. You will provide stewardship to colleagues in the areas that you are a specialist.

Responsibilities

Accountabilities:

  • Delivery of key Advanced Analytics/Data Science projects within time and budget, particularly around AI/Machine Learning models and data visualizations in scope
  • Partner with data engineers to ensure data access for discovery and proper data is prepared for model consumption.
  • Coordinate work activities with Product teams and ML Ops as needed
  • Support large-scale experimentation and build data-driven models.
  • Refine requirements into modelling problems.
  • Influence product teams through data-based recommendations.
  • Research in state-of-the-art methodologies.
  • Create documentation for learnings and knowledge transfer.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and deliverables as requested.
  • Influence product teams through data-based recommendations.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture where everyone is valued
Qualifications
  • At least 4+ years of hands-on work experience in Statistical/ML techniques to solve supervised (regression, classification) and unsupervised problems
  • Minimum 4+ year of SQL, ETL and/or data wrangling techniques
  • Experience in DevOps and Machine Learning (ML) with hands-on experience with one or more cloud service providers (Azure, Databricks) is preferred
  • BE/BS/MS in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or other technical fields.
  • Fluent in Python, SQL, git, PySpark

Skills, Abilities, Knowledge:

  • Data Science - Hands on experience and strong knowledge of building machine learning models - supervised and unsupervised models
  • Programming Skills - Hands-on experience in statistical programming languages like Python, Scala and database query languages like SQL
  • Statistics - Good applied statistical skills, including knowledge of statistical tests, distributions, regression, maximum likelihood estimators
  • Time series Forecasting
  • Cloud (Azure) - Experience in Databricks is desirable
  • Familiarity with Deep learning frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow
  • Familiarity with Spark, Hive is an added advantage
  • Model deployment experience will be a plus, not necessary
  • Experience with version control systems like GitHub and CI/CD tools
  • Experience in Exploratory data Analysis
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

 

Differentiating Competencies Desired:

  • Knowledge of ML Ops / DevOps and deploying ML models is preferred
  • Strong communication skills to meet with business, understand sometimes ambiguous, needs, and translate to clear, aligned requirements
  • Experience using MLFlow, Kubeflow etc. will be a plus
  • Lead technical discussions, driving clarity of complex issues/requirements to build robust solutions
  • Able to work independently with business partners to understand requirements quickly, perform analysis and lead the design review sessions
  • Ability to educate, challenge stakeholders on the role of data and its purpose in the business
  • Experience with and embraces agile methodologies
