The Business Process and Education Unit within the Court Services Division of the State Court Administrator's Office (SCAO) is seeking a Data Quality Analyst to support Data Quality efforts statewide for the Branch's data management systems. The position will work under the supervision of a Court Services Supervisor and with a team of other analysts to prioritize Data Quality concerns, to ensure statewide adherence to standard processes, and to identify trends in Data Quality needs. The position will work closely with court staff throughout the state as well as other units and divisions within SCAO to complete this work.The following are examples of major job duties expected for this position to perform.
  • Conduct systematic analysis of data information in order to determine where and why Data Quality problems exist and to develop solutions to ensure accurate data entries.
  • Utilize structured data queries and reports that are run against data sources to identify trends in data accuracy. Monitor trends for improvement.
  • Identify possible solutions to address discovered Data Quality issues, make recommendations to higher level analysts in Data Quality and Court Services.
  • Support the planning and development of compliance plans for Court Administrative Processes.
  • Create and/or revise written policies, procedures, and reports as necessary.
  • Conduct outreach and technical assistance to court staff in order to understand data accuracy challenges and to provide guidance on how to prevent data entry errors.
Below are past experiences that will enable success in the role. For education requirements listed, the equivalent number of years of related experience may serve as a substitute.
What You Must Have
  • Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in political science, public affairs, criminal justice, sociology, or a closely related area.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a trial court, which provided an understanding of the caseflow process, from time of filing to case disposition.
What You Will Bring
  • Strong ability to research and analyze data, reports, and queries to produce recommendations.
  • Considerable knowledge of the theory, principles, and business practices of court administration.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing with all members of the Minnesota Judicial Branch.
  • Strong experience working with multiple software applications and record management systems that support the courts or other business environments.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with court staff, SCAO staff, and Branch leadership.
Nice to Have:
  • Considerable experience in Data Quality reports
  • Experience with Excel
  • Experience with SQL

Salary
The expected starting salary range for candidates is $29.74-$37.90 per hour ($62,097 - $79,135 annually). The full salary range for this position is $29.74-$46.05 per hour ($62,097 - $96,152 annually). This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for State of MN employee benefits.

This full-time position is classified as a Court Operations Analyst I. This person will work normal business hours, Monday-Friday and work will be conducted predominantly in a remote work environment with occasional work in-office at the Minnesota Judicial Center, as required. Occasional travel throughout the state and to national events may also be required.
