We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Engineering Manager to join our team. As you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and protection of sensitive data within our organization. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective data protection solution and processes, monitoring data flows, implementing technology to detect potential data breaches, and implementing appropriate preventive measures. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background, a deep understanding of data security principles, and expertise in deploying and managing DLP technologies.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Lead the data protection program and provide oversight into multiple initiatives.
  • Manage and further recruit a team to focus on data protection engineering related technologies.
  • Execute management roadmap and vision in growing the program and team.
  • Design and implement Data Loss Prevention solutions across various platforms (i.e. O365, Proxy DLP, Symantec, CASB, etc.)
  • Design and implement Data Loss Prevention strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard sensitive data across the organization.
  • Research and deploy next generation tools to improve the overall data protection program.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain DLP technologies and tools to monitor, detect, and prevent data leakage or unauthorized data transfers.
  • Implementing hardware and software solutions to help mitigate a wide variety of information security risks.
  • Mentor other engineers to benefit the overall security program.
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Conduct regular assessments of data handling processes, identify vulnerabilities, and propose security enhancements to mitigate risks.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, emerging threats, and advancements in DLP technologies, recommending and implementing improvements accordingly.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including IT teams, legal, compliance, and auditors, to ensure alignment with data security and privacy requirements.
  • Maintain documentation, including policies, procedures, incident reports, and configuration details, to support audit and compliance activities.

  • You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • You ideally possess, 15+ years experience in information security and/or deploying/managing data protection technologies in a variety of industries.
  • You have demonstrated experience as a track record leading a Data Protection program or in a similar role, with a focus on data security and DLP technologies.
  • Your experience includes knowledge of the Microsoft suit of product including MIP/AIP and Purview.
  • You possess a strong understanding of data security principles, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
  • You are passionate about DLP technologies, such as data classification, data discovery, endpoint protection, email security, and network monitoring.
  • You have demonstrated experience with DLP tools and platforms, such as Symantec DLP, McAfee DLP, Forcepoint, or similar solutions.
  • You are familiar with security frameworks, such as ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, or CIS Controls.
  • Proficiency in network protocols, traffic analysis, and security monitoring tools.
  • You have a solid understanding of incident response processes, including investigation, analysis, and remediation.
  • You are analytical and a problem-solver, with the ability to analyze complex data security issues and propose effective solutions.
  • You are a strong communicator, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO), are a plus.

Southern California Base Salary Range: $166,551-$266,482
San Antonio Base Salary Range: $136,918-$219,069
New York Base Salary Range: $176,553-$282,485
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
