SAIC is seeking a motivated and ambitious Data Links / Communications Engineer to join the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate (S3I) Joint Technology Center – Systems Integration Lab (JSIL) Technology and Certification Center. This position will perform analysis and provide technical expertise in support of Data Links design and implementation including but not limited to waveform testing, communications architecture design, Electronic Warfare, and Anti-Jam Technologies.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform analysis and study issues relating to the future of communications systems.
- Perform testing and analysis on various datalink waveforms.
- Provide technical counsel to aid in architecting communications solutions.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree and fourteen (14) years of experience; four (4) years of experience are accepted in lieu of a degree
Required Clearance:
- An Interim Secret Clearance must be obtained prior to employment; a Secret Security Clearance must be obtained to maintain employment
Required Skills:
- 5 years of relevant Data Links / communications experience
- Experience with Wireless communications (SATCOM or LOS)
- Experience with Waveform specifications (e.g., Std-CDL, BE-CDL, and DDL)
- Experience with Electronics Warfare (EW) concepts as applies to Data Links
- Experience with communications Anti-Jam / Low Probability of Detection waveforms
- Experience with Data links / communications hardware requirements and design
- Experience with IP networked communications, RF Propagation, Signal Modulation, and error correction
Desired Skills:
- Data links / communications link budget analysis
- MATLAB, scripting languages, and Linux environments
- Multi-access waveforms
- Signal detection theory
- Antenna theory
