Data Governance Lead
Ouro, a global provider of financial solutions, seeks an experienced Data Governance Lead to join our team in a key role to ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of our data assets.
Position Overview:
As the Data Governance Lead, you will be a key member of a team responsible for establishing and managing the Data Governance framework with goals of creating a single source of truth that is accurate, consistent, accessible, secure, and compliant with appropriate regulatory and privacy standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement Data Governance policies, procedures, and best practices while driving a culture of data stewardship and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Data Governance strategies, policies, and procedures.
Establish data quality standards and monitoring processes.
Collaborate with other IT, Security, and Compliance teams to ensure data security and compliance.
Expand our existing data catalog system.
Lead Data Governance awareness and training programs.
Ensure compliance with relevant data regulations (e.g., PCI, GDPR, etc.).
Monitor and report on Data Governance metrics and KPIs.
Drive continuous improvement in Data Governance practices.
Qualifications:
BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject; at least 2 to 4 years of experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Data Governance, preferably within the financial services industry.
In-depth knowledge of Data Governance principles, practices, and regulations.
Strong understanding of data quality and data security best practices.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Experience with Data Governance tools and software (e.g., Alation, Collibra, dbt, Informatica).
Data Catalog tools: Acryl or Alation
Atlassian Suite – JIRA, Confluence
Snowflake
SQL
Google Suite
Data Metrics Reporting Tools (i.e. Qliksense)
Relevant certifications (e.g., CDMP, CIPM) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
