The Impact: As an intern with S&P Global DTS/TSG you will undertake work on a real business project intended to add value to your team and our business, as well as provide you with a great learning opportunity. This Data Engineer internship provides opportunities for individuals interested in working with data infrastructure, data pipelines, and related technologies. Data engineers play a crucial role in managing and organizing data for analysis and reporting.

Compensation/Benefits Information (This section is only applicable to US candidates):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $25 to $30 per hour. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.

- Building and maintaining data pipelines
- Collaborating with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements
- Data cleaning and quality control
- Monitoring and troubleshooting data pipeline issues
- Implement of security and compliance standards

Basic Qualifications:
- Working towards a Bachelors degree in a technical field of study in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or IT
- Fully matriculated students with anticipated graduation date in Fall 2024 or Spring 2025
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are crucial
- Basic knowledge of data modeling and SQL-- python experience is a plus
- Familiarity with distributed systems, data warehousing, and data integration (ETL/ELT) concepts
Preferred Qualifications:
- Databases: Knowledge of various databases such as SQL, NoSQL, and others.
- ETL Tools: Experience with ETL tools like Informatica, Snowpipe or custom ETL scripts.
- Cloud Services: Experience with AWS and Snowflake cloud services
- Programming Languages: SQL, Java, Python
- ADO Agile development framework
