Data Engineer - Streaming

US31026Reporting to the Director, Streaming Optimization for QVC+ HSN+, the Data Engineer will support and participate in the build high quality data pipelines driving analytic solutions and models and exposing these models and analytics as dashboards. These solutions will generate insights from various data sources, enabling the team to advance the data-driven decision-making and add personalization capabilities to our applications. This role requires solid understanding of data architecture, Data Engineering, data analysis, modeling, reporting, and a basic understanding of data science techniques and workflows.
The ideal candidate has experience with streaming media and is a data / software engineer with experience supporting data products supporting analytic solutions along with working data validation knowledge. They are an Agile learner, possess strong problem-solving skills, work as part of a technical, cross functional analytics team, and want to solve complex data problems and deliver the insights to enable analytics strategy.
What You Will Do

• Support and maintain data architecture, models, pipelines that adhere to data architecture principles and business goals.
• Participate in solving complex data problems to deliver insights that help the organization's business to achieve their goals.
• Create data products for analytics and data scientist team members to improve their productivity.
• Support and deliver communication and education plans on analytic Data Engineering capabilities, standards, and processes.
• Partner with Senior Data Engineer and Tech/ Product teams to develop technical architectures for strategic initiatives.
• Learn about machine learning, data science, computer vision, artificial intelligence, statistics, and/or applied mathematics.
• Lead the evaluation, implementation and deployment of emerging tools and process for analytic Data Engineering in order to improve the organization's productivity as a team.

• 1 - 2 years' experience Retail, Tech, Streaming, or a related field with a proven analytical and business background.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields.
• SQL required.
• Python (or similar programming language) required.
• Demonstrates solid working knowledge and understanding in technical domain.
• Understanding of technical architecture, application landscape, test and deployment automation and IT environment, as well as tools used in development, deployment and testing.
• Experience in software development and design experience with strong emphasis on Data warehousing concepts, database design patterns, ETL methodologies, Processing and Transforming massive quantities of Data, Data cleansing, Data wrangling, and Data quality.
• Hands-on experience in developing Data Engineering processes and SQL.
• Hands-on experience using Cloud tools: Azure Databricks, Azure Delta lake, Azure Data Factory, SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Azure DevOps, Data Lake(ADLS), PySpark, Databricks Notebooks
• Experience with data warehouse design techniques including slow changing dimensions, aggregation, partitioning and indexing strategies.
• Experience with AI for personalization models to help with personalized content.
• Can troubleshoot and debug application issues and address them with support.
• Ability to constantly look for better ways of solving technical problems and designing the solution, not being afraid of challenging the status quo.

For New York City based roles only: The annual gross base salary range for this position is $75,500 - $126,000K Salary ranges are general guideline only, and actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience and geographic location as well as business and market conditions.
