Skills
Individuals who have excelled in this role before typically have most of the skills listed below…
- 7+ years of experience as a SQL developer – T-SQL dev, writing stored procedures, functions, tables, etc.
- Understanding of dimensional modeling and OLAP concepts
- Experience working in a Microsoft Azure environment
- Experience with Power BI or SSRS – We require you to understand analytics & reporting, and able to create reports.
- Strong Data Analysis Skills (ability to understand where the data comes from and why it’s important)
Role
Sr. Data Engineer will support the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and all systems that integrate with it. The primary goal is to collect, manage, and convert raw data into usable information for data scientists and business analysts to interpret.
As a Data Engineer you will be responsible for the following:
- Data Services Architecture
- BI Kimball Dimensional Model
- Single Source Reporting Architecture (Client + Ops)
- Master Data Management
- Adhering to professional development standards
- Participate in mandatory solution reviews
- Support integration with the following systems:
- Mainframe Integration Strategy
- SQL Server Integration Strategy
- Oracle Integration Strategy
- Azure Cloud Integration Strategy
- 3rd Party Cloud Integration Strategy
- SharePoint Integration Strategy
- File Integration Strategy
- Support change control and all Change Advisory Board (CAB) related processes
- Support for all departments within Data Services: Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing and Advanced Analytics
- Organized and strong documentation skills are a requirement for any person working in Data Services
- Support and promote Data Governance
- A true team member within the Agile framework
- Communicates when blocks arise
- Accountable for all work completed or not completed
- Active contributor in Data Services Agile Delivery Team
- EDW Knowledge Base contributor for EDW Systems, EDW Sources, EDW Reports, EDW Report Components, EDW Report Calendar.
