Workplace Status:

Hybrid - This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to their primary work location three times per week, at minimum, or other frequency dictated by the business.

The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our HR Data and Analytics Team. As an Experienced Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enabling analytics across the HR organization, empowering data-driven decision-making. The qualified candidate will be able to create and maintain data pipelines, build data models, and optimize databases for delivery performance analysis, and evaluate the integrity, quality, and reliability of data outputs and outcomes.

The successful applicant will have an in-depth understanding of Data Engineering and programming, experience in managing and working with large datasets, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent technical skills, be a creative problem-solver and have a passion for transforming data into meaningful insights. Above all, you should be a team player with excellent communication skills. 

What You'll Do:

  • Perform hands on development to enable analytics across the HR organization and empower data-driven decision-making.
  • Drive implementation of robust data pipelines, ensuring data quality, reliability, and security for on-prem and Azure cloud solutions.
  • Develop pipelines and testing automation to ensure HR data quality and integrity across multiple data sources
  • Sharing your insights and best practices and providing constructive and supportive feedback.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends and advancements in Data Engineering – both technically and in the HR and People Analytics/sciences domain

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 3 years of hands of experience in HR Data Engineering role
  • Big Data Tools: Kubernetes (K8s), Hadoop, Spark, Postgres, Databricks, Azure cloud offerings including (Azure Synapse, ADLS, Azure Functions)
  • Good understanding of HCM data architecture, models and data pipelines
  • Experience designing and implementing data integrations and ETLs with Workday (RaaS, APIs)
  • Experience with Databricks platform - DLT Streaming Pipelines, Workflows, Notebooks, DeltaLake, Unity Catalog, Dashboards
  • Proficient with querying relational databases and/or Hadoop (expertise with SQL, Hive, Python, etc.)
  • Familiar with implementing various sourcing methods (File, SOAP and REST APIs, etc.)
  • Experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as ADO, GitHub, etc.
  • Experience performance tuning queries
  • Experience sourcing into large data warehouses
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and methods as needed – continuous learning mindset.
  • Experience in large scale data integration implementations
  • Understanding of handling SPI Data (Sensitive Data)
  • Strong problem solver with ability to evaluate a challenge and understand solution patterns.
  • Implementing scalable solutions
  • Ability to work with multiple teams across functions and domains within GM; Collaborate and resolve tasks and priorities aligned as a team
  • Familiar with Agile Philosophies and Tools

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

·       Azure certification

·       Familiar with Encryption methods and Tools (GPG, Voltage, etc)

·       Experience with different authentication methods (Basic Auth, Oauth, etc)

Compensation:

The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.

The salary range for this role is $110,200 to $176,100. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
