Job description

The mission of the Juniper Future of X (FoX) team (part of the Juniper Experience and Operations (JXO) Organization) is to be a technology partner for the business teams, focused on research, proof of concept testing, collaboration and direction setting to enable the future of Juniper Experience and Operations. All business functions within JXO are within the scope of FoX, including the Technical Assistance Center, Support Chain and Operations, Customer Care and more.

The Future of X Team is at the heart of the digital transformation strategy. We are central to identifying next generation technologies that have potential to transform how we work and how our customers work with us. Technologies we may leverage for any particular use case may include automation, process reengineering, off-the-shelf solutions or, of course, artificial intelligence (Machine Learning, Large Language Models, Generative AI, Deep Learning, etc.).

Data is at the core of all digital transformations and Data Engineering plays a significant role. A great candidate will be curious, collaborative, a self-learner and unafraid to raise concerns, share ideas and collaborate. Additionally, the candidate will stay connected with this fast-moving industry and both use and recommend new technologies to improve operations.

Role/Position

The Data Engineer Intern will be focused on data analysis, merging, cleaning, testing and more. They will assist on one or more projects related to the development and management of the FoX solutions. This involves collaborating with the Data Scientists, Solution Architects, business SMEs, IT experts and others to understand the data and goals of the work they are tasked with.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field
  • In pursuit of a Masters in either Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to learn new analytical methods and apply in practical business problems
  • Strong analytical and quantitative ability
    • Strong grasp of algorithms, data structures and databases
    • Strong experience with Python, JavaScript or other programming languages
    • Strong experience with Unix/Linux based operating systems
    • Experience with SQL
  • Basic understanding of machine learning concepts
    • Familiarity with test driven code development and SCM tools such as Git
    • Familiarity with Big Data based platforms, specifically Snowflake, Hadoop and/or Spark
    • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud

Minimum Salary: $54,450.00

Maximum Salary:$83,490.00

The pay range for this position is expected to be between $54,450.00 and $83,490.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Juniper’s pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.
