Data Engineer

Core Responsibilities

• Create and manage cloud resources in AWS
• Develop an infrastructure to collect, transform, combine and publish/distribute customer data.
• Data processing/transformation using various technologies such as Spark and Cloud Services
• Identify opportunities to optimize data collection, insights and displays.
• Key participant in regular Scrum ceremonies with the agile teams
• Experience with source control and CI/CD pipelines

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience as Data Engineer
• Understanding of Big Data technologies
• Strong background in math, statistics, computer science, data science or related discipline
• Good programming knowledge in one of language: Java, Scala, Python
• Understanding of DataLake architecture, creating pipeline to ingest data in DataLake
• Experience in implementing data pipelines using AWS services
• Proficient with
• o Different file formats: JSON, Avro, and Parquet
• o One or more Database technologies (e.g. PostgreSQL, Redshift, Snowflake. and NoSQL databases)
• o Writing SQL queries
• Comfortable learning about and deploying new technologies and tools.
• Familiarity and experience in the following is a plus:
• o AWS certification
• o Snowflake
• o AWS Glue
• o Terraform
• o CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab, Jira, Confluence other related tools

Location: Hybrid schedule. In-office in Charlotte, NC on Tuesdays and Thursdays every week.
