WHAT WOULD I DO

The Data Engineer will analyze data for actionable insights and will provide guidance and support for more junior team members. Specific tasks may include identifying sources of data, gathering and cleansing data, devising and applying models to mine the stores of data, analyzing the data to identify patterns and trends, interpreting the data to discover solutions and opportunities, and furnishing visualizations of that data for consumption by technical and non-technical users.

AWESOME PARTS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:

• Produce Innovative solutions driven by exploratory data analysis from complex and high-dimensional datasets.
• Apply knowledge of statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, and make valuable discoveries leading to prototype development and product improvement.
• Use a flexible, analytical approach to design, develop, and evaluate predictive models and advanced algorithms that lead to optimal value extraction from the data.
• Generate and test hypotheses and analyze and interpret the results of product experiments.
• Work with product engineers to translate prototypes into new products, services, and features and provide guidelines for large-scale implementation.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES WE NEED (REQUIRED)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics or other related field from an accredited school or university
• 4+ Years in Data Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics or other related field
• Fluency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, R
• Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Familiar with Looker and Snowflake
• Understanding of Machine Learning (ML) concepts
• Understanding of SQL and noSQL databases
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audience
• Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline. Conducts complex, important work under minimal supervision and with wide latitude for independent judgment.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES WE WANT (PREFERRED)

• Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics or other related field.
• Experience mentoring or managing people

OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW:

• There is travel up to 10% of the time
• There is a need to lift 15lbs
