Primary duties
- Running through day end procedures. This involves executing commands directly on the production system and balancing reports.
- Monitoring the servers for error conditions. Scientific Games utilizes a variety of tools on different operating systems (Linux and various flavors of Microsoft Windows) to monitor these error conditions. It is important that these are closely monitored to ensure system integrity.
- Troubleshooting retailer terminal communications with the various communications vendors. This site utilizes digital subscriber lines, Satellite, and Frame Relay communications.
- Supporting Field Service Technicians and Call Center Operators in troubleshooting terminal issues.
Requirements
- All applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Operations experience, or formal computer operator training obtained through an accredited institution, or equivalent.
- All applicants must pass a urinary drug test prior to hire.
- All applicants must pass a Scientific Games criminal background check prior to hire, along with a DE police background check. A credit check is performed as part of the background check.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral.
Skills
- Prioritization. Many of the nightly processes run on a strict schedule, so performing these tasks is time critical.
- Self-motivation. Many tasks require Operators to perform separate duties. Must be able to perform required tasks without constant prompting from coworkers and with negligible manager supervision.
- Attendance and arriving to work on time is a must.
- Attention to detail. Careful attention must be made to all aspects of the job. Even a small mistake can result in down time and thousands of dollars in penalties.
- Strong customer service skills. Night Operators are frequently required to speak to Lottery personnel and retailers, so a professional demeanor is required.
- Previous work as a Customer Service or Technical Support agent preferred
Scheduling
- Operators are asked to help fill in as needed for other employee vacation, sick times, etc. This may include covering a Day Operator position. Night Operators should eventually be knowledgeable enough of Day Operator functions to assist as needed.
