Data Center Technician

Minimum Requirements

• 1 year experience installing devices and cabling into empty server racks using copper, power, fiber and other connection types.
• 1 year experience patching in fiber and copper cables from network racks to servers
• Must be able to work on ladders and use power tools; ability to lift/carry/setup a 50-pound box or ladder
• Must own low voltage tools, snips, cable strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.
• Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift and overtime as needed and canwork under pressure and meet deadlines
• Able to follow directions in a repetitive task for a long duration.
• Must pass 7-year criminal background check and must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and current automobile insurance
• Professional working proficiency in English is required

Preferred Experience (not required)*

• Experience working in an active Data Center environment
• High School Diploma
• BICSI, Technician, or Installation Certification
• Powder Actuated tools Certification
• Confined Space Certification
• CPR and First aid certified
• Manufacturers certifications for Installation and Maintenance

Essential Duties and Responsibilities*

• Install devices and cabling into empty server racks using copper, power, fiber (LC-LC, AOC-MTP, AOC-AOC), and other connection types.
• Deliver server racks around the Data Center
• Smart Hands Work - Patching in fiber and copper cables from network racks to servers
• Troubleshooting and testing network racks
• Unloading server racks according to specific procedures
• Climbing ladders to route cables
• Working in a team based, fast paced environment to reach customer deadlines
• Perform all work in a neat and quality manner

Pay Rate:*

$22.00 - $28.00 per hour
