Position Summary:

The Network Operation Center Technician will support, maintain, and improve the network and hardware within our Data Center. The technician is the hands-on support performing tasks such as hardware, software, and network troubleshooting, server imaging, deployment, configuration, rebuild, and decommissions. Technicians perform routine and emergency requests through service request tickets as a member of a service team supporting 24x7x365 on-site coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer phone calls and emails from clients requesting technical assistance and support.

  • Monitor all business-critical systems and escalate issues accordingly.

  • Troubleshooting complex technical issues in a fast-paced Data Center environment.

  • Install and perform repairs to computer/server hardware or software for installation specifications.

  • Maintain accurate logs of incoming and outgoing customer equipment and ensure facility cleanliness.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of all products, processes, and systems.

  • Identify and troubleshoot simple hardware failures on x64-based servers including the replacement of failed hardware components

  • Professional experience racking, stacking, and administrating Linux and Windows Servers.

  • Professional experience performing system backups and restores.

  • Gather necessary data for issue replication, problem determination, and/or escalation.

  • Troubleshoot, analyze and resolve the causes of server performance problems.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma required

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs

  • Candidates must have reliable transportation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask

  • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

  • Working knowledge or ability to learn multiple hardware platforms and operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and various applications.

  • Ability to troubleshoot reported problems with hardware, software, OS, applications, and device compatibility.

Recommended Education and Certifications:

  • College degree in a related industry preferred

  • Data Center experience preferred

  • Enterprise Windows and Linux Experience preferred

  • Interested in or pursuing any of the following certifications

  • A+

  • Network+

  • Security+

  • Linux+

  • CCNA

  • LFCS

  • Microsoft Associate Level Certifications
