Data Architect Consultant

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Data Architect to work as a consultant for our Software Engineering team. As a Data Architect, you will play a crucial role in designing, supporting implemention and managment of the organization's Data Architecture to ensure efficient and effective storage, retrieval, and analysis of data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, database design, and a deep understanding of the latest trends and technologies in the field.

 Job responsibilities

• Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand data requirements and define Data Architecture goals.
• Design and support implemention of scalable and high-performance database solutions.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility across different databases.
• Optimize and tune existing data & database systems for performance and reliability.
• Create and maintain data models that reflect business processes and meet the organization's information needs.
• Define and implement standards for data modeling to ensure consistency and reusability.
• Develop strategies for the integration of data from various sources, ensuring seamless and accurate data flow.
• Implement and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for efficient data movement.
• Establish and enforce data management & data governance policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
• Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance the organization's Data Architecture.

Minimum qualifications

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Architect or in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of data modeling and database design principles; experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms is a must.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiar with agile software development practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain and discuss data related concepts with colleagues and customers.

Preferred qualifications

The ideal candidate will have one or more of the following:

• Extensive knowledge of wind plant data, wind turbine design, or operations of a wind plant.
• Deep Experience with AWS data warehouse and ETL tools such as Redshift, Glue, Data Pipeline etc. to efficiently and effectively manage data and their transformations.
