The salary for this position is $56,770-$60,000 annually.
Role Overview:
The Data and Insights Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data to answer business questions or research objectives. The position requires the gathering, analyzing, and documentation of business requirements, and processes leveraging various types of data sources. The position requires working closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and develop solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness.
A Day in the Life:
Examples of Essential Functions:
• Collect, compile, and organize economic & business data from a variety of public, private, & third-party vendor data sources.
• Clean, analyze, & interpret data to identify trends, patterns, & predictions.
• Prepare visualizations for a variety of audiences from the public, private, academic, & non-profit sectors.
• Develop and maintain economic models and forecasts.
• Assist with the preparation of reports, presentations, & other deliverables.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest domestic & international economic business research & trends.
• Evolving duties as identified and assigned.
What You'll Need for Success:
Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business or a related field required
Experience:
• 2 - 4 years of experience in economics, business, public policy, or a related field
• Experience with statistical software and data analysis tools including IMPLAN, Tableau, Power BI, Python, R, Stata, and Microsoft Suite
• Experience with data collection, reporting, and visualization
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to:
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Be a highly motivated, agile, and an independent learner.
• Research and write deliverables suitable for senior leadership.
• Communicate technical information to a variety of audiences.
• Leverage Data and analysis to develop and communicate relevant insights.
• Learn and maintain robust understanding of Indiana's incentives and the policies and operations related directly thereto. Understand how economic factors could impact these policies and incentive programs.
• Maintain confidentiality, exercise tact and diplomacy.
• Manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
