Use your expertise in GIS and data analysis to help a major federal agency identify innovative service delivery methods, apply effective monitoring approaches, track trends, and make data-driven decisions to best support their wildfire management programs. Enhance operational planning, field implementation, and senior executive decision support through complex data analytics, advanced statistical modeling, and business process automation for the program. Work within a small team of highly capable program support consultants dedicated to success of the program.

Responsibilities- Collaborate with team members to collect and analyze spatial and non-spatial data
- Perform data collection design, aggregation, cleaning, and analysis
- Structure large data sets to find usable information
- Assist client in determining reports layout and contents for internal teams and/or external clients
- Use graphs, infographics, and other methods to visualize data
- Create and prepare presentations and reports based on recommendations and findings
- Work with leaders to identify opportunities for improvement
- Establish key performance indicators to measure effectiveness
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or other fields related to the position
- 5+ yrs professional experience with SQL, R or Python-Statistical Programming, Data Visualization and Machine Learning
- 2+ years' experience with ArcGIS REST API's for ArcGIS Online and Server / Portal
- Expert user of ArcPro
- Strong programming skills, with demonstrated ability to create custom geoprocessing scripts using Arcpy and other libraries such as pandas, etc.
- Knowledge of geodatabases, spatial analysis, and data visualization
- Knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise architecture
- Experience creating dashboards in ArcGIS Online and Tableau
- Understanding and exposure to various databases such as Oracle or SQL Server; developing and configuring web services for data exchange
- Intermediate to advanced Excel (pivot tables, statistical charts, and macros)
- Experience with optimization analysis (e.g., Excel Solver add-in)
- Strong organizational, computer, and communication skills
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Master's degree in Statistics, Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or other fields related to the position
- Relevant AWS Certification(s) (Certified Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect, Data Analytics, Application Architect, Cloud Data Engineer)
- Prior experience with DOI/FWS/OWF/Wildland fire and related
$80,000 to $115,000 per year, based on capability and experience
