Position Summary:
IEM is searching for a Full Time- Data Analyst and Reporting Specialist to provide data analytics and reporting support to IEM’s Humanitarian Response Operations and other IEM staff.
Primary Location:
- Candidates can originate from anywhere in the United States; prefer someone that lives a commutable distance to Denver, CO.
- This position will initially be deployed to Denver, CO. There may be a possibility to work remote.
- You will work remote from home when not deployed.
- All remote work environments require the ability to maintain minimum Internet speeds of 25 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download, as well as a ping rate of 100 ms or less during working hours, regardless of the type and number of devices using your Internet connection. You must also have account privileges and access to your Internet service provider account during working hours for the purposes of maintaining the Internet connection, if needed.
Travel Requirements:
- This position will require work to be conducted onsite and may require work on weekends or in excess of 40 hours per week. Travel and other expenses are reimbursable in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.
- All interested candidates must be willing to work on site for the duration of each disaster assignment. Assignments typically may last up to 12 months with potential for extension.
Essential Functions:
- Work with large data sets
- Extrapolate conclusions from large data sets.
- Develop data analysis and forecast models.
- Analyze data and generate useful business reports.
- Use data to create models that depict trends in the client base and the client population.
- Review data for inconsistencies or anomalies that could skew analytical results.
- Maintain databases and conduct routine maintenance as needed to ensure data integrity.
- Outline the specific data needs for each client and/or business method analysis project (e.g., gather end user business requirements)
- Communicate with client teams about data changes or requirements.
- Work with management team to create a prioritized list of needs.
- Effectively collaborate with IEM’s Disaster Response and Recovery management and system development team to understand company needs and devise possible solutions including the ability to:
- Identify and recommend efficient streamlined data and reporting processes.
- Streamline data collection and analysis procedures to ensure fast access to metrics.
- Optimize joint development efforts through appropriate database use and project design.
- Communicate results and ideas to key decision makers.
- Effectively communicate (written and oral) with team members and client stakeholders.
- Advanced to proficient use of all Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint
- Intermediate to advanced use of Tableau, Microsoft project and Visio
- Agile and able to be flexible and adapt quickly to changes during each assignment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years’ experience in data mining, management or analysis consulting
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA preferred.
- Basic to intermediate use of SharePoint
- Consultative skills
- Strong internal controls and policies and processes
