About the Role
We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our team in support of a project for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Data Analyst will apply their analytical skills to validate, clean, analyze, and disseminate data to gather public health insight. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct general data analysis, complete data quality checks, build visualization and reports, and work collaboratively in an agile environment.
This is a fully remote role that can be based in Atlanta, GA or anywhere in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop new and innovative ways of using and reporting data.
- Contribute to data analysis, as requested.
- Develop effective reports and dashboards to communicate findings with target audience(s).
- Develop compelling data visualizations to communicate findings, including Tableau or Power BI dashboards.
- Present key findings and summaries of results to internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance data collections and analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data from various sources.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data analysis and reporting.
Required Experience and Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI and automated dashboards required; 5 years preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team, and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with public health data preferred.
- Previous CDC experience preferred.
- Ability to obtain a government clearance.
Education and Training
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Public Health or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May need to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
