Onsite - This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Pontiac, MI on a full-time basis.
The Role
We are seeking a Cylinder Head Technician to join our Performance and Racing Center to primarily support building various engines for Chevy Performance Parts team as well as work in our engine machine group performing various machining operations. This opportunity is a good fit for a qualified individual interested in high performance and prototype engines and has a passion for racing!
What You’ll Do
Machine high performance, prototype, and racing engine components to exacting specifications
Perform preventative and routine maintenance of machines (change filters, oil, keep machines clean and track service records)
Record and track data collected or analyzed. Maintain good housekeeping and alignment with environmental requirements

Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Minimum 2 years of experience with high performance, racing and prototype machining operation
Able to program and run CNC Newen single point
Able to set up Serdi cutters for valve jobs and able to cut seats out of heads.
Able to set up and run flow bench, for flowing various Cylinder heads, intake system, exhaust manifolds, and restrictors
Experience in honing valve guides and set up measuring tools
2 years’ experience in porting heads and perform development on new raw castings
Knowing how to install seats and guides and what press needs to be
Grinding valves, full inspection on heads, work with CNC on porting and chambers, and checking valve springs
Able to read and work from Blueprints
Strong mechanical abilities, proficiency with typical measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, torque wrenches, etc. typical in engine build and machine shops
Engine related machining operations, cylinder block boring, honing, and decking; align boring and honing; lifter bore bushing installation and honing; rotating assembly balancing, piston valve pocket machining, connecting rod resizing, crankshaft polishing; Cylinder Head decking, multi angle valve seat machining and valve grinding
Perform physical duties involving standing, sitting, and lifting to 50lbs, using upper body, arms, and hands to pull on wrenches used in the machining process
This job is not eligible for relocation benefits; Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate
