Under the direction of the Springfield Logistics Materials Manager, the CYCLE COUNTER works cross functionally to manage the warehouse location inventory levels of the Springfield Logistics Center through SAP, recording information in the error log, performing quarterly blind counts. Assisting in the Y&R audit and the Chep pallet audit
- Provide general warehouse inventory support for the Springfield Logistics Center.
- Actively promote safety and identify unsafe actions and conditions using a principle-based approach.
- Support all warehouse teams and work closely with Quality, Operations, and Materials Management in the Springfield Logistics Center to support customer service.
- Prioritize materials and determine receiving sequence to adapt to capacity constraints across the Springfield Logistics Center.
- Receiving, Pre-Stage, trailer yard and database management
- Utilize SAP, (Excel and Word) to complete a variety of reports related to material usage, scrap/yield, disposal, shrink, cycle counts, aged inventory / plant inventory, at-risk materials, etc.
- Research and solve material or inventory problems for the Springfield Logistics Center.
- Work with McCormick Supply Chain to implement best practices within the Springfield Logistics Center, work through system issues and maintain data integrity.
- Act as an informal leader, pulling together resources to solve problems and reduce inefficiencies
- Work with teams and actively participate in CI to identify process issues and improvement opportunities.
- Provide technical support and training as a resource for relevant system applications.
- Determine capacity impact to the warehouse as a result of new Springfield Logistics Center initiatives.
- Determine best space allocation and storage needs for the Springfield Logistics Center.
- Provide clerical assistance as needed.
- Perform other duties as required
Required Qualifications
- High Shool Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum two (2) years of Warehouse experience in all Distribution fields.
- Experience with MS Word and Excel required. Strong knowledge of SAP required
- Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals, required.
- Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, required.
- Experience following detailed procedures and completing accurate paperwork required
- Experience adhering to and following company, plant, regulatory, and customer standards required.
- Ability to effectively communicate written and orally with all levels of the organization, as well as internal and external customers, required
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings to the management team and other employees, required
- Ability to plan and organize daily tasks and adjust throughout the day to priorities/emergencies and to meet deadlines required
- Ability to work overtime on short notice with flexibility in start times and work days, required
