Shockwave Medical, Inc. is a pioneer in the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) to treat complex calcified cardiovascular disease. Shockwave Medical aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.
Position Overview
Shockwave is excited to obtain an intern Cybersecurity Analyst to learn and work with a fast paced and risk driven Cybersecurity Team. We are seeking a candidate who has a passion learning about core cybersecurity concepts and how they apply to a rapidly growing medical device company. The chosen candidate will partake in threat detection, incident response, and risk identification/reporting exercises throughout the duration of their program.
Essential Job Functions
- Primary responsibilities can include identifying and assisting in the remediation of threats, vulnerabilities, and maturing our security awareness training program.
- Monitor systems and address tickets related to threats and vulnerabilities.
- Contribute to information security policies and standards, procedures and other documentation as needed to improve information security capabilities.
- Create meaningful metrics to demonstrate the effectiveness of security controls and security team operations.
- Participate in security architecture reviews, third-party risk management reviews, and compliance review.
- Generate security related artifacts as needed to meet internal and external compliance requirements.
- Keep abreast of industry news, guidance, and threat feeds.
Requirements
- Awareness of basic Cybersecurity concepts, threats, and attack vectors
- Pursuing a degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or Information Assurance.
- Working towards one or more of the following certifications:
- IT Fundamentals, Network+, A+, Security+, SSCP.
The market range for Shockwave Summer Internships is $23.00-25.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on undergraduate class standing.
