Responsibilities
Peraton is currently seeking an experienced Technical Writer for its’ Federal Strategic Cyber program.
Location: Arlington, VA.
In this role, you will:
- Write and edit technical documents including reference manuals and product manuals
- Write and edit procedural documentation such as user guides and manuals
- Determine the type of publication that will best serve the project requirements
- Meet with developers and project managers to learn about specific products or processes
- Assess the needs of the audience for whom the technical and procedural documentation is intended and tailor the documentation accordingly
- Plan writing processes and set timelines and deadlines
- Create or work with graphic designers to create diagrams, charts, and other visual aids to assist readers in understanding a product or process
- Gather feedback from users, developers, and leadership to improve technical documents
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Cybersecurity/IT security professional writing experience.
- Experience in the coordination of publications and other collateral material using both print and electronic media including the web and desktop publishing software to draft, edit, and lay out material for distribution.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance w/ SCI.
- In addition, must be able to obtain and maintain a favorably adjudicated DHS background investigation (EOD) for continued employment.
