Overview:
We are seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Technical Writer providing vital operational documentation support to our Cyber Incident Response (CIR) team for the Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC) in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Responsibilities:
· The ability to create and modify Standard Operating Procedures, Wikis, forms, spreadsheets, and templates Review and validate all change requests to ensure compliance according to VA policy.
· Manage updates to the content including meeting with technical subject matter experts to identify details of change within the operational artifacts.
· Change management skills are necessary to balance prioritized demands, coordinate changes with internal CIR government and contractor leads, and coordinate changes with knowledge management resources for publication.
· Ability to manage change requests for all necessary documentation and operational artifacts through completion
· Prepare for and facilitate meetings to review documentation updates in progress, change requests, and finalize documentation with CIR government and contractor leads.
· Requires the ability to change direction when priorities are identified and then return to work when prioritized work is completed
· It is desired that this candidate prepare and develop training for the members of the CIR 24/7 operational team, as needed.
· Must possess excellent communication and coordination skills in order to work with all stakeholders
· Ability to work with CIR analysts to learn technical aspects in order to write cohesive documentation supporting incident response
· Ability to work with CIR contractor team leads, including shift leads as appropriate, to gain affirmation of training content
· Ability to work with knowledge management team to finalize documentation after receiving CIR government lead approval to ensure signature and publication processes are completed
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Criminology, or similarly relevant field.
· Experience – 3+ years.
· Must have functional knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, SharePoint, and electronic file management
· Ability to obtain a Public Trust
Target salary range: $50,001 - $75,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
