Job description

The Eugene Water & Electric Board is seeking a Cyber Security Supervisor. This position is responsible for overseeing a team of cybersecurity professionals who ensure the implementation and effectiveness of cybersecurity measures. The successful individual will manage, develop, and implement cybersecurity policies and programs, offering resources for conducting risk assessments, monitoring network traffic for anomalies, and coordinating incident responses. The Supervisor monitors and evaluates the performance of section personnel, ensuring they remain up-to-date with emerging threats and technologies. Maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of EWEB's sensitive data while ensuring compliance with NERC CIP regulations is a primary responsibility of this position. The Supervisor is responsible for developing and maintain the governance, policies, standards, and protocols for Cyber Security, directing the development, acquisition, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise vulnerability assessment tools, as well as endpoint detection and response tools. Communicating with EWEB's leadership about prevailing cybersecurity risks and providing relevant metrics essential for making informed decisions are additional responsibilities. In addition, the Cyber Security Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that EWEB employees receive cybersecurity awareness training, so they are prepared to defend against and respond to potential breaches.

The ideal Cyber Security Supervisor will have knowledge of and direct experience in:

  • Leading a team of experts.
  • Managing resources and budgets.
  • Coordinating across departments and agencies.
  • Regional, state, and federal regulatory requirements relevant to utilities.
  • Creating and managing contracts and inter-governmental agreements.

The successful candidate will have strong leadership and administrative abilities, an understanding of utility industry operations and a commitment to providing excellent service to our partners and customers.

Minimum Training and Experience Required:

Minimum Experience: Eight years of progressively responsible work experience in a directly related functional field which includes four years of direct supervision in a multi-functional work environment OR an equivalent combination of professional, senior, lead, or project management experience may satisfy the supervisor requirement.

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a directly related technical field or an equivalent combination of education plus additional job related experience may be qualifying.

Equivalency: An equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be qualifying.

The starting salary for this position is $116,617 - $155,489 commensurate with knowledge, skills, education, and experience as it relates to the position.

Telecommuting:

This position is based in Eugene, Oregon; however, it has been approved as a hybrid work arrangement involving a combination of telecommuting and working on-site, an average of 2days or 16 hours per week is required to be worked on-site; the selected candidate must live in the state of Oregon.
