The Office of the Secretary of State is recruiting to fill a permanent full-time Information Technology Specialist III position in the Information Technology Division (ITD).
Under the general direction of the Cybersecurity Section Chief, the IT Specialist III architects and maintains secure IT systems, champions security policies, and drives innovative solutions against emerging threats. The ITS III assesses risks, participates in incident responses, and educates the agency on best practices, ensuring robust defense and compliance with evolving cybersecurity standards.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Proven expertise in cybersecurity infrastructure architecture and system hardening.
- Strong background in security policy development and network anomaly detection.
- Extensive experience with multi-platform Security Solutions, including cloud services (AWS, Azure).
- Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive risk assessments and manage risk mitigation strategies.
- Proficient in the latest cybersecurity trends, with an ability to apply NIST and similar guidelines effectively.
- Experience with vendor solution evaluation and integration to enhance security posture.
- Capability to lead and resolve security incidents with efficient remediation strategies.
- Proven track record of promoting organizational risk awareness.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of cybersecurity.
- Experience working in highly complex environments that have competing priorities and demands.
- Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with sensitive information while maintaining strict confidentiality.
