JOB SUMMARY
Nabors is seeking high performing summer intern for a cyber security role in the IT Security Team in corporate governance. The primary purpose of this internship is to assist the IT Security Team with carrying out their internal commitment to maintain system security for all computer systems, networks and the enterprise infrastructure as a whole. Build your skills and knowledge in real-life business scenarios, keeping IT servers and networks safe from cybercrime. Internship based in Houston, TX.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist IT Security Team with the following tasks
- Gathering and reporting on security metrics data
- Development and reporting of phishing simulations
- Security awareness communications
- Learn and provide feedback on the following IT Security Team Activities
- Antivirus, DLP, Edge routing, zScaler
- Assist with reviewing and contributing recommendations on IT Security policies, procedures and standards
- Follow up with technical teams on outstanding tasks assigned by IT Security Team
- Develop documentation for IT Security Team tools and processes
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Must be enrolled in college working towards degree in information systems, cyber security or computer science curriculum or related discipline
- Demonstrate strong understanding of multiple security platforms and technologies
- Possesses desire to learn security principles, policies, tools and procedures
- Ability to complete tasks independently/in a team oriented environment with limited guidance
- Ability to communicate and work across multiple teams and departments
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of VPN/Remote Access solutions
- Knowledge of Zscaler Cloud Security
- Understanding of basic endpoint anti-malware technologies
- Knowledge of security standards like NIST, ISO and OWASP
