Description
This role is categorized as Hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Roswell, GA, Austin, TX or Warren, MI 3 times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business].
The Role:
As a Cyber Security Engineering Lead you will be leading the definition and implementation of GM Cyber Security technology direction, standards or technology roadmaps across GM business units or cross functional IT organizations within multiple security domains - this assignment requires originality, ingenuity, and a wider application of principles, theories, and concepts. In this role, you will be managing a team and is responsible for staffing, communicating, training and development, directing and prioritization of work, evaluating performance and removing roadblocks.
What You'll Do:
- Designing, integrating, and driving complex network security solutions supporting on-prem/cloud native applications and services
- Management of GM’s global firewall security rule lifecycle process & strategy
- Management and oversight of GM’s Web Application Firewall (WAF) design, configuration, and monitoring to mitigate from Cyber Security impacts
- Management of Application Ring Fence design configuration, management, and monitoring
- Oversight of GM’s Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) signature tuning, deployment, and strategy
- Developing engagement & support models for network services protecting GM Assets
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and recent, relevant work experience.
- Experience leading network and security teams in the conduct of day-to-day operations
- Deep domain knowledge of technologies (Cisco, F5, Palo Alto, Akamai, etc.)
- Advanced knowledge of security principles, issues, techniques, and implementations across IT platforms
- Ability to provide technical system solutions, determine overall design direction and provide hardware recommendations for complex technical issues
- Experience planning and developing support processes and adhering to security best practices
- Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of leadership
- Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
