Cutter/Grinder Operator (Cnc)

Position Title:              Cutter/ Grinder Operator (CNC)

Pay Rate Range:         $18- $24/hr. depending on experience
Schedule(s)/Hours     2nd Shift (4:30 pm- 12:00 am) plus Shift differential

Location:                     Portland, CT

Responsibilities Include:

 

·         Responsible for sharpening various types of milling cutters, drills, taps or turning tools as required, manufacturing special form relieved cutters, maintaining inventory of cutter grinding supplies.

·         Perform routine maintenance on equipment.

·         Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques to maximize the effective manufacture of distribution of goods.

·         Knowledge of machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

·         Watches gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

 

Skills/Qualifications:

·         Knowledge of GD&T beneficial

·         Strong verbal and interpersonal skills, analytical and shop math skills, as well as working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

·         Ability to use measuring equipment – calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, depth gauges, & size blocks.

·         Must be detail oriented and meticulous and have excellent communication skills.

·         Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.

Qualifications Include:

 

·         High School degree or equivalent

·         1 + yrs. of experience
