We Are Seeking
The Customer Service Professional positions provides Customer Service to Gilbert residents, staff, and the general public for Development Services applications and permits, business and liquor licenses, public works requests, burglar alarms and utility billing in an in-person and call center environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Review and data enter Development Services applications and permits. Scan applications into system;
  • Process cash, check, and/or credit card payments for Development Services and Finance transactions. Balance the cash drawer and prepare bank deposits on a daily basis and/or perform daily reconciliation of payments to the system;
  • Issue and renew Gilbert business licenses. Enter new licenses for processing, take payment and issue license and renewal. Scan applications into the system;
  • Process Public Works work orders for residents requesting service, this includes Streets, Environmental Services, Meter Services, Water Conservation, Water Quality, etc.;
  • Respond to inquiries and requests for utility billing, business licensing, and permitting;

About You
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associates degree (A.S., A.A.) or two-year technical certificate in related field;
  • 3 years of experience in a Customer Service environment and/or in a call center or high-volume phone environment;
  • 2 years of experience using multiple software systems;
  • 1 year of cashiering experience if applicable.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

PREFERRED SKILLS IN:
  • Using associated software applications;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, supervisor, and external customers;
  • Mathematical operations, cashiering policies, data entry, and filing techniques;
  • Organization, managing time, and prioritizing work.
