Customer Returns and Quality Liaison
International Gourmet Foods, Inc. (IGF) services restaurants, gourmet markets, clubs, caterers, bakeries, country clubs, breweries, wineries, and hotels throughout the eastern United States. The Customer Returns and Quality Liaison supports IGF's efforts to ensure product integrity and enhance the customer experience. This involves identifying and evaluating customer item returns. Placing those in the proper location, salvaging those which can be saved, and trashing products that meet that requirement. They will also assist the Product Integrity Coordinator with various quality control related tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive driver returns. Identify those items and evaluate their condition. Using established product standards, return to location, repack, or trash.
- Performs routine quality checks on sensitive products in the warehouse to ensure items meet high quality standards.
- Works with the receiving team to verify product quality and shelf-life.
- Works with the operations leadership and FST to improve internal quality standards.
- Assist with department leads on removal of damages and sending product to be refurbished to Repack team.
- When necessary, help Repack team with product refurbishment.
- Complete the Trash Log on a daily basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Required)
- Excellent communication, organization, and data-entry skills
- Food industry background, preferable in distribution, back-of-the-house (kitchen), and/or food safety
- General food ingredient knowledge with a focus on product freshness
- Proficiency with all forms of date coding and lot numbers, basic label reading, and geographic designation labels
- Proficient in M365 (especially Dynamics, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, and Word) and other technology skills, including use of email, multi-line phone system, and text
- Proactive, quick-thinking, problem-solving approach to work
- Ability to work independently or as part of a diverse team, especially building cross-departmental collaboration in a fast passed environment-changing gears when required, whether multitasking or adapting working hours
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Strong bilingual communication skills (English and Spanish)
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sustain prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Must be able to bend, lift (at least 55 lb.), stretch, and climb (including ladders)
- Must be able to work across temperature zones (dry/refrigerated/frozen/Room 70°F/Refrigerated 34°F/ Frozen -20°F (with proper gear))
- Requires bending, sitting, standing, walking, use of hands, arms, legs, eyes, and voice
