- Develops, communicates and deploys strategies and initiatives for Customer Quality improvement.
- Manages customer communications on quality issues.
- Identifies, plans and ensures approval of applicable quality documentation that require customer approval.
- Drives internal teams on resolution of the Customer Quality issues through problem solving and reporting.
- Drives implementation of customer specific quality requirements.
- Provides regular updates/status on quality issues.
- Collaborates with Customer Service and responds to Customer Quality surveys.
- Drives Customer Quality Feedbacks (CQFs); this will be the new combined process for EARs and PQIs; to closure and prevent recurrence through comprehensive problem solving methodologies.
- Acts as a customer's ambassador within the organization and ensures customer requirements are understood and implemented, and be an escalation path for resolving customer issues internally.
- Participates in customer alliance initiatives. Develops metrics and documents Customer Quality KPIs.
- Strengthens customer relationships (create partnerships) working alongside the customer service team.

- New Product Quality Conformance
- Supports quality in new product processes by serving as member and/or resource on development teams.
- Writes, executes and reports test plans based upon scientific methods to support the new product process and on-going testing.
- Ongoing Quality Conformance
- Provides receiving-inspection technical support and writing/reviewing receiving-inspection procedures.
- Leads the material review board (MRB) and implements corrective actions internally and externally with suppliers.
- Supports and or provides input for published monthly performance reports as well as identify areas for improvement.
- Support engineering solutions to quality assurance.
- Plans, controls and ensures process and product quality in accordance with quality principles, which include planning processes, material control, acceptance sampling, and measurement systems.
- FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis)
- Understand issues through progression.
- Testing and supplier interaction.
- Internal CAR if needed for understanding of diagnosed issue.
- Lead FMEA projects.
- Environmental
- Provides support in our efforts to continually make products greener by supporting our Environmental initiatives.
- Vendor/supplier interaction
- Plans, conducts and report audits of suppliers.
- Interfaces with suppliers concerning quality issues and represent Johnson Outdoors’ interests.
- Evaluates defective parts returned from the field.
- Ensures compliance to all company quality policies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in business, math, science or equivalent.
Experience: Typically requires 2 or more years of experience in quality engineering within a similar industry.
