Job description

General Summary:
The Customer Portfolio Credit Specialist will perform various responsibilities with unique accounts requiring special handling including but not limited to invoice entry into customer portal websites, customer payment research, data requests, special reporting, and routine customer communications via emails and/or phone calls.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Portfolio monitoring to reduce and eliminate delinquent accounts receivable.
  • Monitoring customer portals for invoice entry, payment detail, etc.
  • Generating weekly, monthly, or ad-hoc reporting defined by customer need.
  • Maintain the logging and tracking of credit accounts.
  • Communicate with sales and other departments regarding credit accounts.
  • Assist customers with questions, problems, and escalate disputes appropriately.
  • Reconcile credit and collection accounts.
  • Perform collection calls.
  • Complete special projects or other duties as requested.

Position Requirements:
  • High school graduate required. College courses preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of credit and collections experience.
  • Proven customer service skills and the ability to resolve problems and prevent customer dissatisfaction while ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Must be team-oriented with ability to work with multiple departments, highly organized, detailed oriented and have successfully demonstrated the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to prioritize, troubleshoot and coordinate multiple tasks while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Commitment to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers with a good sense of urgency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and good telephone techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to look for ways to improve and promote quality.
  • Proven data entry skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Ability to think critically and bring fresh perspective and ideas to the team.
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel software.
  • Previous sophisticated ERP system and customer portals experience a plus.

  • Sense of urgency and commitment with strong follow-up skills.

Working Conditions:
The work of this position is performed in a controlled office environment. This position requires the ability to work under pressure and communicate with a diverse population including other employees, customers, vendors, etc. This position also requires prolonged periods of sitting in a regular seated position as well as the use of general office equipment including phones, printers, computers, (mouse, keyboard, etc.)
