Greeting and building a relationship with our guests before they ever enter our parks, the Contact Center acts as a vital link between the zoo and our community. The Contact Center is responsible for dispensing a wide range of information for the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Zoombezi Bay, and The Wilds in a quick and efficient manner via phone call or email. - Answers phone calls and emails in relation to all Zoo departments while providing exceptional customer service.
- Performs typing, data entry, filing and general office duties for designated areas.
- Up-selling memberships, special events, educational offerings and other Zoo related offerings as appropriate.
- Utilize Salesforce database to log all calls and inquiries.
- Assist with special event ticket fulfillment.
- Assist with Membership processing as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Posted schedule may be subject to change based on operational needs such as weather condition, guest attendance and department needs.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- PC skills required (knowledge of Excel, and Microsoft Word preferred).
- Good organizational skills.
- Able to balance multiple assignments successfully.
- Able to work in varied weather conditions (i.e. extreme heat, rain).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to maintain courteous and helpful behavior.
- Able to maintain appropriate employee appearance (see uniform guidelines in the employee handbook).
- Able to work flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.
