Job Title: Custodian
Position Summary: Responsible for cleaning and some maintenance of Lord of Life Lutheran Church
Department: Resources
Reports to: Lead Custodian
Supervises: N/A
Status: Part time$16/hr
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Hours Worked Per Week: Monday through Thursday evenings. Possible weekend fill in.
Essential Functions:
- Cleaning (approx. 60%)
- Cleaning all areas of the building (restrooms, meeting rooms, hallway, offices, stairways, floors, walls, windows, etc.)
- Trash / recycling collection
- Room set-up (approx.35%)–set up and take down tables and chairs in specific rooms as schedule dictates. Interact with church staff to ensure needs are met.
- Maintaining a Safe environment (approx. 5%)-Snow removal (Shoveling and bobcat use. We train), slip/trip hazards, etc.
- Responsible for ensuring hygienic standards.

Education/Qualifications: High school (or pursuing) or equivalent.
Experience/Knowledge:
- Able to work with cleaning chemicals.
- Possible interest in Bobcat operation (no experience necessary)
Physical Demands: X appropriate category to function in the job.
Sedentary work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible
amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects,
including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are
sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary
criteria are met.
Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of
force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of
forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job

X Medium work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force seldom, 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds
of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
