Custodian - Evening

Keep school in clean and orderly condition by performing custodial work in a satisfactory manner and reasonable amount of time. Full-time; 12-month position. Anticipated start date April 1, 2024.

Duties:
- Perform custodial duties such as cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and dusting
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste materials properly
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas, including hallways, lobbies, and break rooms
- Perform floor care tasks such as vacuuming, carpet cleaning, and floor buffing
- Assist with setting up and tearing down for events or meetings
- Follow established safety procedures and use cleaning chemicals properly

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning preferred
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects if required
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with others

Helpful Skills:
- Clean: Ability to maintain cleanliness and tidiness in assigned areas
- Buffing: Proficiency in operating floor buffing machines to maintain floor appearance
- Custodial: Experience in performing custodial duties in various settings
- Facilities maintenance: Understanding of basic facilities maintenance tasks, such as light bulb replacement or minor repairs
- Maintain: Ability to keep assigned areas clean and organized on an ongoing basis
- Commercial cleaning: Familiarity with commercial cleaning practices and standards
- Floor care: Knowledge of floor care techniques, including vacuuming, mopping, and carpet cleaning
- Industrial cleaning: Experience in performing cleaning tasks in industrial or manufacturing environments
