Position: Custodian (12 month) (Full Time)

Start Date: ASAP

Work Day: 8 hours - various shifts available (summer hours may vary)
7:00am-3:30pm (Monday-Friday) or 2:30pm-11:00pm (Monday-Friday)

Salary: $46,121.00

Required: Two (2) years of full time paid work experience in building cleaning and maintenance, including atleast one (1) year with supervisory responsibilities over two or more subordinate employees.

Description: This is a working supervisory position which is responsible for the custodial and maintenance functions in a school facility. The Custodian leads and participates in the cleaning and maintenance of the building and related equipment; makes regular inspections of the building and grounds to maintain proper cleaning and maintenance procedures; makes recommendations for improvements and concerning the purchase of supplies, materials and equipment; schedules and assigns cleaning and maintenance work of subordinate personnel; inspects and supervises maintenance work performed by outside contractors; checks to insure that buildings are heated, cleaned, locked and unlocked and in readiness for all activities; directs and assists in setup of the facility for scheduled functions; keeps accurate records and makes reports of supplies used and activities that occurred; assists with the ordering of custodial supplies; directs and participates in all building cleaning and maintenance activities, including but not limited to removal of refuse, dusting, cleaning furniture/walls/windows, moving furniture, sweeping, strip/waxing floors, vacuuming, painting, snow/ice removal; performs a variety of semi-skilled carpentry, plumbing, electrical and other building maintenance tasks; operates or checks the operation of lighting and heating systems; reports any acts of vandalism or breakage to immediate supervisor; trains new employees; provides input on recommendations regarding the employment, removal and discipline of personnel.
