Custodial/Maintenance Worker

Job Description:  Custodian

Reports To:  HR Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Ensure spaces are prepared throughout the day and for the next day by taking out trash and general cleaning.
2. Performs multiple, daily visual inspection walks throughout facility and grounds to maintain and report safety issues.
3. Provides daily routine cleaning, trash disposal, restrooms, kitchen, and shop floor, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping.
4. Restocks restroom disposables- toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc. Notifies supervisor when stock levels are low.
5. Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities, such as monthly fire extinguisher checks, exterior building lights, eyewash station, eyewash/shower combo station.
6. Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects, when directed.
7. Performs cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities and/or based on seasonal/project requirements.
8. Notify supervisor of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs.
9. Uses cleaning solutions and chemicals in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
10. Checks refrigerators weekly and disposes of any remaining items at the end of each week.
11. Clean refrigerator and microwaves on a weekly basis or more frequently if needed.
12. Keeps outside grounds clean by picking up debris.
13. May assist or perform seasonal activities such as light snow removal, salt application, and minor maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, adjusting/lifting heavy furniture, or other similar activities.
14. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
15. All other activities and duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Bilingual is a plus. 
• Work independently and stay focused energetic, hardworking, dependable employee.
• Must be able to work by standing/walking 10 hrs. a day, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Able to perform multiple tasks at once to meet deadlines.
• Work independently and stay focused.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Knowledge of different cleaning products and tools.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Maintenance and minor repair skills.
• Good mechanical skills.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Able to recognize and report issues to supervisor.
• 2 or more years' experience of Custodial and Maintenance experience required. 

Job Type: Full-time, Mon- Thurs. 6:30am –5:00pm & OT Friday, as needed.
