A New Leaf's La Mesita Family Homeless Shelter has 16 units and is the only shelter in the East Valley that allows parents to bring their children with them, a critically needed resource for families in crisis. Families are allowed to stay together and have the unique comfort of a private apartment in which they can lock the door and know their children will be safe. A New Leaf's La Mesita Family Homeless Shelter connects families to the resources they need to find long-term stability. We believe that no child, no family should ever face homelessness alone.
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 DOE
Location: Mesa, AZ
Part-time Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 2pm
Qualification
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- 0-1 years of proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role
- Experience working with homeless or economically disadvantaged populations preferred.
- Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
- Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
- Familiarity with basic landscaping and handyman practices
- Attention to detail and conscientiousness
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Maintain a professional working relationship with clients, A NEW LEAF employee, community members and the public to ensure proper representation of A NEW LEAF.
- Be aware of, and abide by, the rules and regulations governing the professional behavior of A NEW LEAF staff, including code of conduct, ethics, professional standards, contractual obligations and general demeanor.
- Attend and participate in meetings and/or projects as requested by management.
- Complete and maintain all required training A NEW LEAF deems necessary.
- Assist with responsibility for appearance, cleanliness, and maintenance of facility and equipment in the agency.
Compliance/Requirements:
- Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation
- Current Auto Liability Insurance
- 39 Month Motor Vehicle Record
- Must Be At Least 21 Years of Age
